Marigold’s ‘Outstanding’ CQC Rating Praised by Press
Following our recent ‘Outstanding’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), Marigold Nursing Home has received a lot of praise from the local press at the Sunderland Echo and The Chronicle. This opinion is also shared by industry publication, Care Home Professional.
Marigold Nursing Home’s new ward was recently opened by local MP, Julie Elliott and we’re incredibly delighted and proud to report that Marigold was the first care home in the entirety of Sunderland to receive an ‘Outstanding’ CQC rating.
Graham King, Chief Operating Officer at Sunderland Care and Support, revealed the rating to councillors at the health and wellbeing scrutiny committee on the 5th of June as part of a wider update on the care market: “I’m very pleased to report we have a home that was rated outstanding” and “Well done for them [Marigold] for being the first to gain an outstanding in Sunderland.
Home Manager, Bijumon Joseph, has welcomed the news and had this to say about it: “We’re committed to being recognised as an outstanding service and this result is testament to the hard work, commitment, compassion, kindness and dedication of the whole team”.
Bijumon is recognised nationally and internationally for his work and is a former winner of the British Journal of Nursing award (2014) and National Dementia Care award (2013).
This sentiment was echoed by Yitzi Bamberger, owner of the care home provider overseeing Marigold, Memory Lane Care Homes: “We’re very proud of what Biju together with his staff have achieved at Marigold Nursing home”.
“Since opening in April 2018, Biju has led by example getting involved in every aspect of the care of our residents,” continued Bamberger.
