Marigold Wins Top Award at National Care Awards

Marigold Nursing Home’s own Home Manager, Bijumon Joseph, has won big at the National Care Awards 2019.

Following on from his nomination earlier in the year, Bijumon has won the National Care Award in the Registered Nurse category.

Bijumon said: “I am delighted to be a winner of the national care award. This award is recognition of not only me, but the entire team’s hard work and commitment and I would like to dedicate this award to my residents, their families and my great team”. Bijumon continued “I was able to achieve this award due to having a fantastic provider Yitzi Bamberger of Memory Lane Care Homes. Together we have a vision of continuing to provide the best standard of care possible for our residents. It is his continued support that allows me to bring to life many creative ideas for improving the quality of our resident’s life.

Yitzi Bamberger, of Memory Lane Care Homes, said “ I am delighted that Bijumon has won the National care Award, he is an outstanding Manager and Nurse. Biju leads by example and gets involved in every aspect of the care of our residents. Marigold nursing home opened around 18 months ago and has achieved an OVERALL OUTSTANDING rating from CQC, Gold rating from Sunderland CCG and now the manager has been given this prestigious prize. We are very proud of what Bijumon and his team have achieved at Marigold Nursing Home.”

Winners of the National Care Awards were presented with their trophies by host Simon Brodkin at the high-profile Gala Night held on Friday, 29th November at the Hilton London Metropole attended by over 650 guests.

The judges chosen Bijumon as a winner and their comments was “It was apparent from the motivation and interview that Bijumon lives and breathes the values and ethos of the home that he manages.” The judges felt that his expertise as a nurse shone through in both his development of specialist palliative and Dementia provision and in his capacity to support and train his staff to deliver outstanding care”.
