Read House Care Home

Read House was opened in 1999 by the Duke of Kent. It is a purpose-built residential care home designed to provide an ideal environment for the care of the elderly. Read House provides a home for adults over 65years with a variety of needs, from those that are still quite independent to others who may need more help due to physical restrictions or memory loss, including dementia.

Read House has an enviable location on the Esplanade in Frinton-On-Sea, overlooking the greensward and the sea just a few minutes stroll down to the beach. The 37, en-suite bedrooms are situated over three floors. All have wonderful views, either over the ocean, the greensward or the lovely private garden. We are also in close proximity to the charming Connaught avenue where our residents love spending an afternoon having a nice cup of tea and doing a little shopping.
Read House provides the people that live here with a secure, relaxed, and homely environment in which their care, well-being and comfort is of prime importance.
An activities coordinator helps arrange a wide range of activities for our residents to get involved in, including sensory activities, exercise, gardening, doll therapy and trips down to the avenue. We pride ourselves in providing activities in a very personal manor that everyone benefits as much as possible from them. Families are welcome to come and join in the fun anytime.
At all times our staff preserve and maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all people within a warm and caring atmosphere, and in so doing will be sensitive to the persons’ changing needs. Such needs may be medical, cultural, psychological, spiritual, emotional or social. Read House is proud to be a home that values diversity amongst both staff and residents.
